Dewey's 24 hour readathon

So I did participate in the readathon though I did not do as good as I would've like. I read 1 book. A 384 page book so I guess that's better than I normally would've read. I read the thousand dollar tan line the official Veronica Mars companion novel and I LOVED it. It was so good. To read this I would have to say that you watch both the TV show AND the movie because their is some spoilers her and there and also to know the characters a little bit more. The story focuses on Veronica tring to solve two kidnappings that could possibly be linked to the Cartels. The whole time while I was reading this I was like I know what happened I mean come on it's not that hard to figure it out. But to my suprise it went a COMPLETELY different way and I was so happy with it overall. I gave it 5 stars on goodreads and I can't wait for the next one to come out in January I believe it's called Mr Kiss and Tell but I'm not sure :). That's it guys I'll "see" you Wednesday for top 5Wednesday.

Friday reads/Dewey's 24 hour readathon

Hello everyone I thought I would do a Friday reads to update you guys on what I'm currently reading. So I'm almost done The lightning thief by Rick Riordan, the first instalment of the Percy Jackson series. I'm really really liking it so far I find the beginning was kind of boring up until he went on the quest im my opinion. Also I'm slowly making my way thru the first Lord of the rings book in French for a school project. It took a while to get into because of all the world building. It's the first high fantasy that I've ever read (I've read the trilogy twice already) I keep putting it down in the beginning because it's feels long. I have a month to read it and do my project so I'm really taking my time to enjoy it a little bit more.

Dewey's 24 hour readathon
This year will be the first time I will tske part in the 24 hour readathon. I've never done a readathon before so I don't really know what to expect. For me it starts at 6 am on Saturday and ends at 6 am on Sunday.
TBR: for the readathon I would like to read the Veronica Mars official companion novel, The thousand dollar tane line

Also I would like to read the second Pericy Jackson book at the moment I can't remember what it is called.

If I finish or get tired pf the books I'm reading then I will probably read a graphic novel.

Also if I finish all of those books then I'll either start on the 4th Percy book or read Choker by Elizabeth Woods which is only about 200 pages and apparently perfect for Halloween so yeah I'm really excited and on Sunday after the readathon is over then I will update you guys on how much I've read :) also follow my Twitter @glitterpoptart where I will be updating you guys more often :)

Top 5 books you weren't expecting to like but did (October 15th)

Ok so most of you have heard of Top 5 Wednesday if you are active in the bookblogging or booktube community. So I thought that I would start doing them. So this week's topic is top 5 books that you weren't expecting you'd like but did. These are in no paticular order.

1. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Oh wow what a suprise I'm talking about Fangirl again. But this book had caught my eye many times in the book store and  on the internet book community people were raving about this book. And I was intrigued but when it actually came to buying or reading it the premise didn't appeal to me. I thought it didn't make any sense when I read the back. But one day I was at a book store and I saw it there on the shelf just one copy of it  and I couldn't help myself,I mean I couldn't leave the store without buying a bool of course (I have no self control) so I brought it home with me. I started it and automatically it started to consume me all I could think about were Rainbow Rowell's fictional characters. Overall it's now one of my favourite books of all time.

2.Looking for Alaska by John Green
Now I'm not going to lie I got this book after I finished TFIOS and I was convinced that John Green was my favourite authors so I went and bought all of his YA books. When I came home I googled each of them because I had no clue what they were about I just got them on an impulse :"). When I came to looking for Alaska I thought it was strange that there was about half way thru the book a page that just had one word in gigantin font. That word was After. I was so confused that I decided to google why it said that and I spoiled myself. I hadn't read the book but I already knew what was going to happen and when I read it out of context I was just like "this is stupid why did I buy this book it's probably terrible" and Ialmost didn't give it a chance and honnesttly I'm glad I did because it's become also one of my favourite novels.

3. If I Stay by Gayle Forman
I had just finished reading TFIOS and after that every book that said it's sad and blah blah blah but my mind just went to it's a ripoff of TFIOS because in my tiny little brain TRIOS was like the bibble at that point it was like the one of only YA love story book thing I had ever read. If I stay is definitely not the best book ever but that doesn't take away that I did cry and it did move. I did overall enjoy it.

4. The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien
I only read this because I HAD to for school and I had seen the Lord of the rings and not been a huge fan pf the franchise so I went into it thinking I hate this it's gonna be terrible!! But surprisingly it wasn't I actually liked it. I'm not going to lie I cried at the end when it's like the war or whatever. I think reading the Hobbit made me fall in love with the whole franchise. Sincr then I have read the Lord of the rings and sern the movies. Now LOTR is one of my favourite trilogy and the Hobbit my favourite prequel novel.

5. The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan
Ok so I started reading the first book in English class and I was really disappointed. I just didn't see what the big deal was. Everybody was talking abkut Percy like he was somekind of hero. And now with 5 books AND a spinoff series also with 5 books. With a total of 10 books,2 series and 2 movies (but they suck) I still hadn't hopped on the band wagon that is Percy Jackson. Also I had seen the first movie and not particularly enjoyed it so that was also a turn off. They just released new covers for the whole series and I just couldn't help myself they're so gorgeous so I bought them. And recently I read and finished the first novel in like 2 hours andI lived it sooooooooooo much and I'm so excited to continue on the series!!

Favourites

So for my first post I though you guys could get to know me better by talking about my favourite books or series. This is in no particular order so let's get started.

1. Looking for Alaska and the Fault in out stars by John Green.
So if you haven't heard of Johm Green yet what are you doing with your life?!? He has a way of completely tearing your heart apart and slowly putting it back together. The words on the pages flow beautifully and you can't help but fall in love with the carachters. Personally I like looking for Alaska better than the Fault in our stars because I found it easier to relate with Pudge and the Alaska more than with Hazel and Gus.

2.The Mara Dyer series by Michelle Hodkin
Now I know that Mara Dyer is GOING to be a trilogy but I have not yet read the third and final book as it has not been released yet. Mara might not be my favourite female protagonist but Noah is definitely one of my favourite YA male character. I love the plot of this series and how disturbingly creepy these books are.

3. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Cath is me I am Cath we are one. I absolutely fell head over heels in love with all the characters in this book. Cath was so easy to relate to and if Cath wasn't your kind of girl then there's so many more characters to pick from. Every sine character had a different personality then the other but they all came together beautifully in the end (except Nick I hate Nick). The way that Rainbow Rowell used a third person narative it made the novel just that much better.

4. The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling.
Now if you haven't read this or even seen the movie I don't know where you've been for the past like 10 years. Harry Potter over all just gives me the warm fuzzies when ever I open one up or even watch the movies.

That's it those are my favourite novels if you have any recommendations or if you want to tell me about YOUR favourite books please feel free to!!!
